"Eigenlijk moet iedereen een keer in z’n leven sushi eten op Michelinsterren niveau. Daarvoor hoeven we helemaal niet naar de andere kant van de wereld te vliegen, want dat kan gewoon in het Okura bij Yamazato. Als je het over een restaurant hebt op dit niveau durven velen van ons niet eens op de website te kijken hoe duur het is, maar dat valt dus gruwelijk mee! Bij Yamazato lunch je het Omakase chefsmenu voor €45,-. Voor deze prijs zit je aan de chefs table en krijg je de verschillende nigiri’s per stuk geserveerd als in de welbekende Yiro Dreams of Sushi documentaire. Door alleen al naar de bereiding door de chef te kijken loopt het water je in de mond. De combinatie van deze fantastische ervaring compleet met de in kimono lopende bediening die onderling alleen maar Japans spreekt, maakt eten in Yamazato de goedkoopste vakantie naar Japan. "In het Okura vind je een heel scala aan restaurants met een Michelinster (Sazanka schittert zonder ster, Ciel Bleu heeft er zelfs twee en de Serre heeft een bib gourmand), maar tot nog toe aten we alleen bij Yamazato. Die heeft het meteen tot deze lijst geschopt, want het is de goedkoopste vakantie naar Japan die je je maar kunt wensen. Iedereen spreekt hier Japans, alles krijg je met 2 handen aangereikt, de 13e verdieping in het Okura bestaat niet (al moet je gewoon op de begane grond zijn voor dit restaurant) en het eten is fantastisch.
