"In het Kimpton de Witt hotel, vlakbij het Centraal Station, vind je Super Lyan. In dit monumentale pand woonde vroeger literair meester P.C. Hooft, nu drink je hier cocktails aan een gigantische ronde bar met felroze neonverlichting. Ook mooi. Wij bestellen dan een whiskycocktail van de tap – of ja, eigenlijk alles van de menukaart. Door de cocktailhelden achter de bar en hun eigenzinnige menukaart blijf je namelijk gegarandeerd nog wel even zitten. Favo's zijn de creatieve takes op classics zoals de Harvey Wallbanger en de Lyan Negroni, maar de Black Velvet steelt de show. Johnny Walker Black, met Guinness, Voerman Vieux en champagne. Daar komen we wel ons hotelbed voor uit. Protip: Is het Dry January of heeft JP je weer eens per ongeluk bezwangerd? "Een breeduit lachende Zana Möhlmann komt aangerend met een gigantische fermentatiefles vol aardbeienshrub. Ondanks de felle neonverlichting is zij altijd het stralende middelpunt van de bar. "Waarom ik fan van de negroni ben? Nou, zelfs als je covid hebt kun je het nog proeven!" Het is altijd lekker binnenkomen bij Super Lyan, de cocktailbar van boutiquehotel Kimpton De Witt in het centrum van Amsterdam.
