"Misschien wel de lekkerste sushi van Nederland eet je op een klein bedrijventerreintje in IJmuiden bij dit gekke restaurantje. Niet in Amsterdam dus... Na vijftien jaar authentieke Japanse gerechten te hebben geproduceerd vond oprichter Marinus Noordenbos het tijd om ook aan de locals te laten zien wat ze kunnen. Er werd een chef uit het Okura weggeplukt om vervolgens de meest fantastische gerechtjes te serveren. Doordat Hokkai zelf ook vis verwerkt werken ze altijd met de beste vis en dat is te proeven. Naast prachtige nigiri zijn we vooral onder de indruk van de sashimicocktail die je ook krijgt in het Chefs Omakase menu. Voor onze absolute favoriet cheaten we dus een beetje, want voor dit restaurantje moet je zeker een stukje rijden, maar dat is absoluut de moeite waard.
