"Wat een transformatie heeft het stationsplein van Arnhem de afgelopen decennia doorgemaakt. Een beetje scepticus kent het amper terug. Al is gelukkig niet álles van glimmend glas en oersaai staal. Het eeuwenoude Haarhuis staat er nog, met een nieuwe lotbestemming: het beste hotel van de regio te worden. Dat is best wel gelukt. Met Hotel Haarhuis heeft Arnhem haar eerste vijfsterrenhotel. Wij verblijven in een van de "City Boardrooms", met eigen bad, keuken én gigantische tafel om aan te werken. Zo worden we toch een beetje gedwongen om daadwerkelijk te arbeiden tijdens ons verblijf in Arnhem. En deze guide te schrijven, bijvoorbeeld. Het blijkt dat er ook nog kamers zijn met een eigen sauna. Dat leidt vanzelfsprekend tot spraakmakende badjasavonturen. Ook als je niet hoeft te overnachten heeft Hotel Haarhuis uitstekende redenen om binnen te stappen. In rooftopbar BLOU kijk je over het centrum van Arnhem met een cocktail in de klauwen. Beneden heeft Restaurant LOCALS alle ingrediënten om een succes te worden. Hier wordt met lokale seizoensgroenten gekookt, het liefst geplukt uit hun eigen vertical farm. Met Triptyque's Niven Kunz als culinair adviseur moet dat wel goed komen. Dan is er ook nog The Storage, een whiskybar in de kelder van Hotel Haarhuis.
